Aquaporin Inside® Drinking Water Reverse Osmosis (DWRO™) membranes are biomimetic elements that are inspired by aquaporin proteins to provide unique properties. These membranes can be easily integrated into any residential or commercial point-of-use reverse osmosis system in standard configurations.

Properties of the 500 GPD domestic reverse osmosis membrane

AQUAPORIN's DWRO3012-500 membrane is a reverse osmosis water filtration technology designed for tap water applications that require 80 psi. This membrane uses natural water channels to remove 95.00% feed water contaminants, making it ideal for tankless tanks and water purifiers. Made in the USA, the membrane ships dry for long life and is available in standard size configurations. Compatible with all types of conventional reverse osmosis units equipped with a 3012 membrane holding, this 500 GPD home reverse osmosis membrane offers exceptional filtration efficiency and increased durability.

It is recommended to run 30 to 40 liters of water during the first use or replacement of the membrane to eliminate the preservation liquid and to maintain an optimal water temperature of 25°C to preserve the membrane from any Shame. A pressure greater than 2.5 bars is required to activate the reverse osmosis, with an ideal pressure between 4 and 4.5 bars. Monthly maintenance, replacement of carbon and sediment cartridges every 5000-6000 liters of treated water or every 2 years, as well as replacement of the membrane every two years, are essential to extend the life of the the diaphragm. The use of the membrane with an activated carbon pre-filter is recommended for optimal performance. It is also important not to expose the osmosis unit to water that is too hot or too cold to avoid any damage to the membrane.

Precautions for use:

1. Discard permeate from first hour of use: Not to be used for drinking or preparing food.
2. To prevent biological growth during prolonged shutdown periods, it is recommended that the membrane elements be immersed in a preservation solution.
3. It should be stored dry in the room and at a temperature between 5-35°C / 41-95°F.
4. It should not be stored in direct sunlight.
5. Keep items wet at all times after initial wetting, even during extended downtime.
