AQUAPORIN 4040 TWRO 2700 GPD MEMBRANE
Aquaporin Inside® Drinking Water Reverse Osmosis (DWRO™) membranes are biomimetic elements that are inspired by aquaporin proteins to provide unique properties. These membranes can be easily integrated into any residential or commercial point-of-use reverse osmosis system in standard configurations.
AQUAPORIN 4040 membranes are thin film composite membranes packaged in a spiral wound configuration, which offer many advantages over other module designs for most reverse osmosis applications in water treatment.
The spiral-wound configuration offers lower replacement costs, simpler plumbing systems, easier maintenance and greater design freedom than other configurations, making it the industry standard for membranes. reverse osmosis and nanofiltration in water treatment.
It is important to strictly follow the system start-up steps to prepare the membranes for their normal operation and to avoid their deterioration under the effect of water overfeeding or hydraulic shock. The operating parameters will comply with the specifications and the quality of the water produced as well as the performance objectives can be achieved if the start-up steps are respected.
Before launching the start-up procedures, it is advisable to check the pre-treatment, to check that the membranes have been correctly installed, that the calibration of the measuring instruments is correct and to carry out all other checks necessary before start-up.
It is important to avoid sudden changes in pressure or flow rate of cross-flow filtration during start-up, shutdown, cleaning or other cycles in order not to damage the membrane.
At start-up, it is recommended to gradually transition to the operational working state by increasing the supply pressure in stages every 30-60 seconds. The programmed operational rate should be reached in 15 to 20 second increments. Permeate produced during the first hour of operation must be drained.
After impoundment, the membranes must remain wet. If the operating limits and guidelines given in this sheet are not strictly adhered to, the warranty will be null and void.
It is recommended to immerse the membranes in a preservative solution during prolonged shutdowns of the system in order to avoid any biological proliferation. The customer is fully responsible for damage caused by certain chemicals or lubricants incompatible with the membrane.
The maximum pressure drop in a pressure tube is 3.4 bar (50 psi). Static back pressure on the permeate outlet should be avoided at all times.
It is important to note that the use of this product does not in itself guarantee the elimination of cysts and pathogens from the water. Their reduction depends on the design, operation and maintenance of the system.
