Now that you want to travel around France in a motorhome, it is important to choose the type of filtration systems that will work best for consuming drinking water. You will need to fill your tank with the cleanest water possible, otherwise you must pre-filter the water before the tank to avoid bringing in too many impurities. Mechanical filtration will be best for pre-filtering larger particles such as sand.
The triplex filtration station with cartridges treats your drinking water to 0.1 micron with a maximum flow rate of 600L/H. Enough to take a shower with enough flow. It is possible to use it for washing dishes or making meals, provided that this water is not contaminated by coliforms or microorganisms from stagnant water.

The RV filter station consists of three stages of water treatment to make it safer for drinking and cooking:

Step 1 : Granular Activated Carbon with KDF

The first stage of filtration is purification with granular activated carbon and KDF. KDF (Kinetic Degradation Fluxion) is a type of copper-zinc alloy which has the properties of reducing chlorine, heavy metals and preventing the proliferation of bacteria in the water. Granular activated carbon also adsorbs impurities, including volatile organic compounds and chemicals like pesticides and herbicides. This filtration step improves the taste and odor of the water.

Stage 2 : Filtration of fine impurities at 1 micron
The second filtration stage removes fine impurities with a pore size of 1 micron. This filtration stage captures sand, silt, rust and algae, which can make the water extremely clear before the final stage. The filter cartridge used at this stage of filtration is made of polypropylene that can trap particles of this size in depth.

Step 3 : Ultrafiltration with hollow fiber membrane at 0.1 micron
The third and final stage of filtration consists of ultrafiltration with a hollow fiber membrane with a pore size of 0.1 micron. This filtration step removes bacteria, viruses and other pathogens that may be present in the water coming from the tank. The hollow fibers let water through while trapping contaminants, making it an effective way to remove microbiological contaminants.

RV Water Filtration Maintenance

Maintaining your RV's water filtration system is important to ensure it continues to function properly and provide you with clean, safe drinking water. Here are some maintenance tips:

• Replace the filters regularly : Provide a replacement 1 micron polypropylene cartridge during your trip, in case it saturates too quickly. Replacing too late can result in a severe reduction in water flow.
• Clean the System : Clean the system periodically to prevent the build-up of sediment and other contaminants. Use a bleach solution to clean the system before a period of non-use.
• Inspect the System : Regularly inspect the system for leaks, cracks, or other damage that could compromise the filtration system.
