This reusable trapping system will be placed at a good distance from the house so that the butterflies do not approach the light sources at nightfall. It settles from mid-May to November in the south of France.
The sexual attraction attracts the male in the trap, in order to reduce the proliferation of the species.

The highest number of pyrales of the boxwood is between the beginning of July and the end of September.
The pheromone is placed in the reservoir and is replaced every 3 to 6 weeks.
The trap filled with water drowns the butterflies that are attracted by the smell of female pheromones.

The boxwood moth (Cydalima perspectalis) is a pest insect that attacks the boxwood in many departments of France. They are attracted by the light of the houses and terraces. In addition, the caterpillar leaves behind silk threads and droppings which considerably impair the aesthetic appearance of the boxwood.
It is very difficult to get rid of it. In general, the first butterflies are visible from the beginning of June. The trap should be installed from the beginning.

How to store pheromones?
The date of manufacture is stated on the pouch. It is important to keep pheromones in the refrigerator at about 4°C for up to 1 year.
The plastic trap can be kept for several years free from frost.
