Big Duo Cartridge Kit: A Complete Solution for Domestic Filtration

The Big Duo cartridge kits are designed to guarantee optimal water filtration for domestic use. This kit includes three types of cartridges: a polypropylene sediment cartridge, an activated carbon container with KDF® media, and a block activated carbon cartridge. Together, these elements provide a thorough purification process, effectively removing impurities and improving water quality for consumption and daily use.

How the Filtration Cartridges Work

The kit includes three cartridges with complementary functions: a sediment cartridge to filter large particles, an activated carbon container with granular KDF®, and a block activated carbon cartridge targeting specific pollutants.

5 Micron Sediment Cartridge

Composed of thermo-welded polypropylene microfibers, the sediment cartridge removes large particles such as sand and rust. The filtration gradients capture larger impurities on the outside and finer particles down to 5 microns deeper inside, offering durable filtration.

Activated Carbon Container with 300 g of KDF®

The activated carbon container reduces chemical and biological contaminants, while the KDF® media (a zinc-copper alloy) removes heavy metals, limits bacteria growth, and prevents limescale buildup. Together, they improve the taste of the water and enhance overall quality.

Block Activated Carbon Cartridge for Big Blue 10"

This cartridge is used to dechlorinate municipal water, removing organic pollutants and unpleasant odors. Placed after the sediment cartridge, it ensures optimal filtration and should be replaced annually.

Usage & Installation

These cartridges are compatible with Big Blue filter housings of 9”3/4 to 10”. Use them for mains water, rainwater, or to protect systems such as reverse osmosis units. Placing a sediment cartridge before the activated carbon cartridge prevents rapid saturation and improves efficiency.

Replace the sediment cartridge every six months or if the flow rate decreases, and replace the activated carbon cartridges annually for optimal water quality.
